The size of the pumps outlet is a good guide for selecting what size hose/pipe you should use. For typical grey water jobs around the home such as collecting water from washing machines and showers a 1″ ID open ended pipe should suffice. Garden hoses are not suitable to be used with grey water pumps nor are watering systems.
